Hamilton gas station hit by ‘tainted’ fuel looks to reopen next week

Repairs to the gas station’s tank are expected to be made Monday and must pass inspection before it will be allowed to reopen after it was discovered that a broken coupling on one of the tanks allowed water in, officials said.

Mercer County officials shut the gas station down this week and the state Department of Environmental Protection imposed a delivery ban that reamains in effect on the gas station when nine customers complained to Hamilton Police about being left stranded in their cars after filling up at the gas station.

Many called tow trucks and told The Trentonian they’re worried they may take a financial beating to repair the broken-down vehicles.
