Michael Bannon on Monday said that the station, at the corner of Hood Boulevard and New Falls Road, had complaints from drivers of possible diesel contamination in the regular gasoline tank, which is deadly to either a diesel engine or a regular gasoline engine.
Severe engine damage can occur. Bannon did not know how many customers bought gas at the station and said it might never be known. He added that the station owner cooperated and closed the pumps until tests confirmed the diesel fuel somehow got into the tank.
