Biodiesel in general and soy-based biodiesel in particular are great choices, but unfortunately farmers in many regions of Kentucky have a hard time finding a distributor that sells B20 (20 percent biodiesel) or higher blends.

The Kentucky Soybean Board is suggesting that farmers ask for and use biodiesel as they head into spring planting. “We’re challenging every farmer in the state of Kentucky to request that their fuel distributor offer biodiesel blends this spring,” said Dennis Clark, a soybean farmer from Sedalia and our state’s representative to the National Biodiesel Board. “A thriving biodiesel market helps everyone in the ag sector, and in order to get these higher blends of biodiesel, we’re going to have to ask for it until the distributors believe that we are serious and provide it.”
