VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, May 10, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- SFU Resource and Environmental Management Professor and noted economist, Mark Jaccard will travel overseas this week after receiving a formal invitation from European Parliament to provide economic and environmental impact insights as part of the region's consideration of a Fuel Quality Directive policy. Joining Jaccard will be Dr. James Hansen, an internationally renowned climatologist who spent 40 years at NASA's Goddard Institute studying human impacts on the global climate condition.

The Intertek biofuels lab in Romeoville, Illinois has earned an important designation from the National Biodiesel Board (NBB). This company news release says the Intertek lab is now listed as a testing facility on the BQ-9000® website and is a preferred lab for BQ-9000® producers and marketers by the National Biodiesel Accreditation Commission (NBAC):

Comptroller blasts failure to monitor jet fuel

The government authorities responsible for monitoring the production and maintenance of jet fuel have failed to do so properly in recent years, thereby causing a major threat to aviation safety, State Comptroller Joseph Shapira said in his report on Wednesday.
A section of the report looked at the steps taken to ensure the quality and stability of aircraft jet fuel supplied at Ben-Gurion Airport.

Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, today announced it has been granted BQ-9000(R) certification by the National Biodiesel Accreditation Commission (NBAC). The Intertek biofuels laboratory in Romeoville, Illinois, is listed as a testing facility on the BQ-9000(R) website and is a preferred lab for BQ-9000(R) producers and marketers.
The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) oversees the accreditation program, which is a cooperative and voluntary program for biodiesel producers, marketers and laboratories. BQ-9000(R) is open to biodiesel manufacturers, marketers, distributors, blenders, and laboratories, in both the United States and Canada
