All Diesel Fuel Tests

Water test for Diesel fuelFT-0100 Water and Visual Clarity
This is a simple two-part test in which diesel or biodiesel fuel is tested for visual clarity and the presence of entrained (dissolved) water.
This test should be used as an initial screening test for fuel deliveries and for periodic monitoring of fuel quality at the dispenser and storage tanks. It can also be used as a vehicle maintenance diagnostic to detect entrained water (a major cause of blown injector tips). Works for diesel, biodiesel, biodiesel blends.
Approximate time to perform test(s)  Two minutes. Results in 5 minutes.

Test for Microbial Contamination FT-0110 Test for Microbial Contamination
This is a test to detect both fungal and bacterial contamination in diesel and biodiesel fuel. It can be used to test fuel from the dispenser, from the vehicle tank, or from the main fuel storage tanks.
This test should be used to test diesel and biodiesel storage tanks on a one to three month basis. This test may also be used as a vehicle diagnostic if a fuel sample fails the Water and Visual Clarity test.
Approximate time to perform test(s)  Two minutes. Results in 48 hours.

FT-0120 Test for Degraded Fuel (Acid Number Test)
This threshold test indicates whether diesel or biodiesel fuel exceeds industry specifications for acid number value, a key indicator of fuel degradation.

This test should be used to test fuel deliveries and periodic monitoring of fuel quality at the dispenser and storage tanks. It can also be used in vehicle maintenance to detect degraded fuel in seasonal use vehicles.

Works for all diesel fuels, including Diesel #1 and #2, jet fuel, and biodiesel blends. The thresholds are based on 0.3mgKOH/g fuel (blends),.   Approximate time to perform test(s)  One minute. Results in under 5 minutes.

FT-0130 / FT-0131 Percent Biodiesel Test This test identifies biodiesel blends that exceed a certain percentage of biodiesel. The FT-0130 test is intended for use with B5 (5% biodiesel) and will indicate if more than 10% biodiesel is present in the fuel. The FT-0131 test is intended for use with B20 (20% biodiesel) and will indicate if there is more than 30% biodiesel present in the fuel. Incorrect mixing of biodiesel blends is one of the most common causes of fleet downtime since it can cause unexpected filter plugging.
When to use it
This test should be used as an initial screening test for fuel deliveries and for periodic monitoring of fuel quality at the dispenser and storage tanks. It can also be used to screen tactical (emergency) vehicles and generators for the presence of biodiesel fuel. Works for biodiesel blends.
Approximate time to perform test(s)  One minute. Results in under 5 minutes.

FT-0150 BioDetect Test  The Biodetect Field Test detects the presence of biodiesel in standard (petroleum-based) diesel fuel. This test detects biodiesel at levels as low as 1% (B1) and can be used as a fuel screening test for tactical vehicles such as emergency vehicles, aircraft, or emergency generators. This test is also used as part of standard vehicle maintenance to indicate whether biodiesel fuel quality testing is required.
Approximate time to perform test(s)  One minute. Results in under 5 minutes.
